About Roads to Recovery
Roads to Recovery is a Parent founded and operated, non profit organization, dedicated to helping children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders ("ASDs") and their families find individualized solutions through education, training, research, advocacy, and public awareness. Autism is a devastating neurological and biological disorder. The CDC reports that 1 out of every 150 children is diagnosed with autism each year, with no known cause or cure, this number may increase. Autism is now more common than Down Syndrome, mental retardation, and Cystic Fibrosis combined. Some people affected with autism will require life long care at the cost of $5 to $7 million dollars. Autism baffles the medical community, strains our public and private schools, and drains the resources of families affected by autism. It can be devastating, but there is hope. Roads to Recovery connects families in a network of support, offers individualized educational programs, continuing educational training sessions, seminars, and events targeting the entire family in their quest for wellness.
Our hope is for Roads to Recovery to embody our collective experiences, resources, and hope for those who continue to be affected by autism.
